Holiday, Christmas life, and the new year

Lowey is right. We're all pretty much being crap at regular blogging. Personally, this is because I don't seem to have the patience at the moment to sit down and type out some relatively long prose.

Basically, the last few months have consisted of:

  • America Absolutely splendid holiday in early November. We saw everything we possibly could have in Boston and New York, and I wish I could go back to see all the bits and bobs that we didn't get chance to. I could probably live in Boston, as its such a nice place, but New York is a truely amazing place to visit, if you've ever seen a stereotype of the city on TV or in a film, be that people carrying little poodle dogs, hot dog stands, the subway or some random religious nut hobo, its true. Its one of those places where anything can, and probably does happen.
Basically, we flew to Boston, did everything there for a few days, then hired a large SUV and drove to new york, via some places in Rhode Island, just to get an idea of what goes on around the place.

  • Work Since returning, I've been working a lot of extra hours to get us on top of a few things. It's a tough choice to take a chunk out of your own time for your work, but I'm sort of hoping that the extra effort will pay off.

  • Christmas Christmas was alright. To be honest, it was probably not at an ideal time given the amount I had to do, but such is life.

Well, I think that's about it. Telly broke before Christmas, need a new one, but don't want to spend £200 to get an LCD one. Unfortunately there's far less choice for a bog standard 15" CRT TV these days.

Dentist next week, which won't be fun.

Oh, and I've started to be on call one week in five, which is interesting. Enforced sobriety every so often is probably doing my liver good.
